The 64K Computer Club is a meeting place for students at Politecnico di Milano who are interested in hacking, making, and coding. If you are passionate about technology and like to build stuff, this is the place for you.. 🙂

Our Goal

Our aim is to give you a foundation to foster your creativity at the intersection of diverse disciplines, from computer science and engineering to industrial design, working around real-world projects that originate from your very intuition and ingenuity. We want to give you the conceptual and concrete tools to make your ideas concrete. In doing so, we flip the perspective of regular academic curricula. Project work in regular courses is usually limited to specific disciplines, say computer engineering, and is based on a project specification provided by the lecturer. With 64K we are here to listen to your project ideas and are willing to support their concrete realization, up to real prototypes, across diverse disciplines, while pushing for peer-to-peer and experiental learning.

We pay tribute to one of the first personal computers, the Commodore 64, which many developers, designers, and tinkerers relied on for experimenting and innovating, and are inspired by the creativity of the early homebrew computer clubs, which eventually generated formidable breakthroughs in science and technology!

The work in 64K unfolds in cycles. You can read about the students’ projects in the first cycle. All of these stem from the student’s own ideas. Some were recognized at the international level and won awards at top-tier conferences and maker fairs.

What’s Next?

The next cycle is planned to start in September 2021 and is offered as a course of the Passion in Action! initiative at Politecnico. ! If you are interested, drop us a line!
